A venue is not one piece of music.

A hotel lobby and its spa do not play the same thing — and a café's terrace is not its dining room. In a gym the weights floor runs at 128 BPM while the yoga room flows at 60. Mublic splits a venue into zones and each zone plays its own music, at its own tempo, at the same time.

And how many devices?
One device per zone Each zone plays from its own device — a tablet, computer or phone. There is no hardware to buy and nothing to install, and if one device fails the other zones keep playing.
Or all of them from one computer A single computer with a multi-output sound card is enough. Each zone is routed to its own output, and the player remembers that choice for every zone.

Two zones need no extra hardware at all: one goes to the audio output, the other over Bluetooth.

Gym or yoga studio: the instructor’s own phone The instructor walks into the class, connects over Bluetooth and opens their tempo. You install nothing.
You set the permissions As a chain, music is managed centrally; you can open specific zones to staff if you want.
It plays when the internet stops Every player downloads half an hour of music in advance. If the connection goes, the music does not.
